The Playlist of My Life

Sans (Original sprite by toby fox)

I made a playlist the other day. It was designed to be a sort of representation of myself, something I could play for others to introduce them to me. My Playlist:

  1. "No Ceiling" by Eddie Vedder
  2. "Shredded Metal" by Ninja Sex Party
  3. "MEGALOVANIA" by toby fox
  4. "Black-capped Chickadee" by Donald and Lillian Stokes
  5. "Love is All" by Yui

Eddie Vedder's "No Ceiling" is from the soundtrack to the movie Into the Wild. This song conveys my personal philosophies when it comes to nature and its role in society. I've long fantasized about a vagabond life, subsisting off the bounty of nature. I even walked across the country once.

Ninja Sex Party is one of my favorite bands. Most of their songs are comedy based, and "Shredded Metal" is no exception. It makes me laugh every time! The lead singer is currently the most influential role model in my life. He is living proof that, no matter how far along in life you are, you always have a chance to achieve your dreams.

Video games have been a huge part of my life from a very young age. "MEGALOVANIA" comes from the soundtrack of a game called Undertale, which is likely the game that has impacted me the most. It changed my perspective on life, teaching me about the consequences of my actions and the value of determination. It helps me strive to improve myself as a person.

"Black-capped Chickadee" is a song that is merely a field recording of the songs and calls of a specific song bird, the black-capped chickadee, most often used by professionals and serious hobbyists. I've used these recordings to learn bird calls from a young age. Birding is a serious part of my life.

Yui is one of the most influential artists in Japan, and her song "Love is All" has special meaning to me. This song elicits a strong nostalgia for the days when I was honing my knowledge of wild edible plants. It also represents my connection to Japanese culture, specifically anime.
